INDIANAPOLIS — David Bausman has been named the new program manager for policy and regulatory affairs with the Indiana State Department of Agriculture.

Bausman, 29, is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis and DePauw University in Greencastle. He comes to the ISDA after practicing law with the firm of Javitch, Block & Rathbone, where he handled civil litigation, statutory code and case law research.

Prior to that, Bausman was the assistant majority attorney for the Indiana State Senate Republican Caucus. He clerked for two Marion County firms while in law school.

At the ISDA, Bausman will be involved extensively with regulatory and legislative policy in the areas of farming and agribusiness.

“I’m pleased to have David joining the ISDA team,” said ISDA Director Gina Sheets. “His background in the legislative branch and the private sector will assist our department greatly as we continue our mission of advocating on behalf of farmers and agribusiness in regulatory and policy matters. We continue in our search to complete the ISDA policy team.”
