I hope everyone is having a safe and bountiful harvest. I’m sorry I haven’t written an article for a few weeks. I have been busy with harvest and planting winter wheat.

We just finished up our soybean harvest on Monday, Oct. 21. Beans for us were really good, anywhere from 60 to 100 bushels. Asgrow soybeans were the top-yielding. Corn harvest is well underway. I have been seeing some really great yields.

Moistures have been anywhere from 17 percent to 29 percent. The 29 percent is mostly our sidedressed corn, and this corn is amazing in spots. I have seen some downed corn, and this is due to corn rootworm insect pressure.

Winter wheat has been a struggle to get planted this year with wet weather. The first fields I planted are up and looking great. I hope everyone has a great and safe harvest. This is the best time of year — you get to see all your hard work pay off.
