DECATUR, Ill. — “Is Entrepreneurial Farming for You?” is the title of a University of Illinois Extension-hosted workshop scheduled from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Macon County Extension Unit office in Decatur.

The office is located at 3351 N. President Howard Brown Blvd., Decatur, on the campus of Richland Community College.

The workshop is designed to help people who think they might want to get their feet wet in sustainable farming learn what it takes to start and manage a farm-based business and to decide whether this is the path they are ready to take, said U of I Extension local food systems and small farms educator Deborah Cavanaugh-Grant.

Topics to be discussed include goal setting, financial planning and marketing options. Workshop participants also will have the opportunity to meet experienced sustainable farmers and other prospective farmers.

Registration is $20 and includes a light supper. To register, phone (217) 782-4617 or go to http://web.extension.uiuc.edu/registration/?RegistrationID8540.
