Agriculture groups collaborate for State Fair

INDIANAPOLIS — While the traditional Indiana State Fair will not take place, a modified Indiana State Fair 4-H Livestock Competition has prompted three Indiana commodity organizations to form an alliance.

Indiana Beef Cattle Association, Indiana Pork and American Dairy Association Indiana will join forces in support of the families that work tirelessly to care for Indiana livestock. The groups will combine to have a presence serving food during the 4-H show weekends.

Operating out of the Dairy Bar, the three organizations will be working together to offer a limited menu of their traditional State Fair favorites.

The concession plans to be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 7-9 and Aug. 14-16. Popular items like pork burgers, milkshakes, ice cream and smoked beef brisket sandwiches will all be on the menu.

“The Dairy Bar has been a beloved tradition to those visiting the fair grounds and those showing at the state’s highest level of agriculture since 1941,” said Jenni Browning, CEO of ADAI. “We are all very grateful for the opportunity to safely serve these families the great fair food they love.”
