'The biggest Fendt tractor yet': 1100 Vario MT series tractors available in four models

DULUTH, Ga. — The next chapter for the AGCO Corp. has started with the introduction of Fendt track tractors in North America.

The Fendt 1100 Vario MT series tractors are available in four models — 1151, 1156, 1162 and 1167.

“This track offering features our award-winning VarioDrive transmission and low-rev engine speed concept to make customers more efficient in their operations,” said Bob Crain, senior vice president and general manager for AGCO North America.

“Fendt represents five things — excellence, efficiency, reliability, quality and passion,” Crain said. “We take these values very seriously when we introduce a product that carries the Fendt name and it must deliver on these values.”

“When it comes to machinery, many farmers know bigger is not always better,” said Andrew Sunderman, Fendt tactical marketing manager for high horsepower tractors. “But when you have something bigger with the ability for more control and more operator comfort that is when bigger becomes better.”

The four 1100 Vario MT tractors have a range of 510 to 670 horsepower.

“This is the biggest Fendt tractor yet and it is designed to provide the best two-track tractor in the market,” Sunderman said.

“We’ve developed a tractor that is not just big, but it provides operators more control with an industry-leading transmission, new suspension elements for the best operator comfort and more intelligence through the use of cutting edge precision ag technologies,” Sunderman said.

The suspension elements include pivoting midwheels that absorb rough and uneven terrain.

“The Smart Ride suspension provides a level platform, as well as takes the shock out of bigger bumps and oscillations to give the operator a smooth ride,” said Daniel Smith, Fendt product marketing specialist, high horsepower tractors.

“It’s also about having the right power to weight ratio,” Smith said. “With a base weight of 41,700 pounds and maximum ballasted weight of 59,000 pounds, this allows the customer to put the weight where they want it.”

Smart Ride Plus features two optional hydraulic cylinders.

“The tractor can be leveled depending on ballast and implement load to maintain a correct implement and hitch alignment, improved field performance as well as ride quality,” Smith said.

“At the heart of every Fendt tractor is the VarioDrive transmission that provides infinite speed ranges from 65 feet per hour to 25 mph,” Smith said. “With VarioDrive and the Tractor Management System, the tractor will automatically find the right engine speed and gear ratio to maximize performance and minimize fuel consumption.

“Once in the cab you’ll feel right at home with the same color-coded controls as the other Fendt tractors and the multifunctional joystick,” Smith said.

With the three-point hitch design, operators will have better control over the position of the implement with the steerable hitch.

“The optional hydraulically-controlled drawbar can swing 28 degrees to the left or right,” Smith said. “It is controlled from the cab and the hitch can be set for manual control or auto mode.”

The Fendt 1100 Vario MT tractors will be available for pre-sales on Sept. 1 and deliveries to dealers will start April 2021.
