Fast Five: National FFA central region vice president

INDIANAPOLIS — At the 93rd National FFA Virtual Convention, six individuals’ lives changed forever when they were elected as the 2020-2021 National FFA officer team.

One of those members is Paxton Dahmer, who hails from Missouri and was selected to serve as the 2020-2021 National FFA central region vice president.

Dahmer took the time to share five unique facts about himself.

1. Dahmer is the sixth generation in his family to be involved in the agriculture industry. One side of his family began farming in South Dakota in 1910, while the other side began in the agriculture industry in Missouri in 1928.

2. His favorite Career Development Event is Livestock Evaluation. Dahmer has judged livestock since he was 8, and he has come to love it over the years. He even had the chance to compete at the National FFA Livestock Career Development Event in 2018.

3. He eats Mexican food at least three times a week, almost every week. Over the years he has never reached a point where he has grown tired of it, and even some weeks he eats even more of it.

4. Paxton loves to hike and often hikes alone where he gets the chance to reflect on whatever is going on in his life at a particular time. He enjoys taking hikes with friends, as well.

5. He is very passionate about food insecurity and after attending the Washington Leadership Conference, he realized that he's interested in finding ways to help eliminate food insecurity. He has worked with Drive to Feed Kids in Missouri.
