In-person events at Indiana FFA State Convention

TRAFALGAR, Ind. — Although a lot of events have been held virtually for quite some time trying to reduce the spread of COVID-19, several have started to take place in person with the proper precautions.

That includes the 2021 Indiana FFA State Convention, scheduled June 14-17 with a majority of activities in person at different locations in the Indianapolis area.

Derick Williams, Indiana FFA reporter, said the convention will be held partly at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, Hamilton Southeastern High School and a third location that hasn’t yet been announced

All the general sessions will be held in the Hoosier Lottery Expo Hall at the state fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Williams said.

All leadership contests that normally take place during the convention will be held at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, he said.

While the convention will be conducted in person, some events will be different, including Monday Fun Night.

For Monday Fun Night, the Indiana FFA state officers will provide a list activities and places that showcase interactive agriculture and other unique things to do in Indianapolis, Williams said.

Spreading Out

Evan Coblentz, Indiana FFA treasurer, said this year’s event will look a little different than the in-person conventions in the past.

While in-person activities will be held, there will be limited availability in the sessions and tickets will be required, he said.

The number of tickets that will be available to FFA chapters will help make sure social distancing protocols can take place.

Williams said part of the convention will still be held virtually for those members who can’t attend.

As the convention gets closer, more information will be released, he said.
