New soybean processing facility in the works at Beck’s Hybrids

ATLANTA, Ind. — Beck’s Hybrids is investing $62 million in a new soybean processing facility, seed drying equipment and warehouses that are expected to be complete by 2022.

The facility will help keep up with the company’s growth, which has doubled in size every 6.5 years. Beck’s Hybrids is the No. 1 selling corn and soybean brand in Indiana and the third largest in the United States.

Jim Herr, processing manager at Beck’s Hybrids, said the project is a shining example of the next generation’s commitment to the company.

“This highlights the Beck family’s continued re-investment in the farmer,” he said. “As an employee, it’s encouraging when you see the family members take this capital and invest it back in to the company.”

New equipment will boost efficiencies and quality assurance, Herr said.

The expansion will double the processing capacity from 3 million to 6 million units per year over the next six years.

The 221-by-300-foot building will feature a seven-story, standalone processing tower, five new warehouses for seed and equipment storage, and office space.

“As we continue to grow and expand, with a footprint now in 11 states, we are driven by the increasing demands of our customers who want more high performing products suited for their acres,” said Scott Beck, president of Beck’s Hybrids.
