Indiana FFA honors agriculture educator with Distinguished Service Award

INDIANAPOLIS — During the 92nd Indiana FFA State Convention, the 2020-2021 Indiana FFA state officers awarded many individuals, both FFA members and agriculture educators, with top honors for their dedication and passion to agriculture.

One particular award that they gave out was the Distinguished Service Award.

As stated on the Indiana FFA website, https://inffa.org/page.aspx?ID=2376, the Distinguished Service Award is given to recognize those who have gone above and beyond in their service to Indiana agriculture, Indiana agricultural education and/or the Indiana FFA. Recipients must have already received their Honorary Hoosier Degree.

This year, Indiana FFA recognized Dale Griffin by honoring him with the Distinguished Service Award. He has been the agriculture educator at Rossville Schools since 1987.

While recognizing Griffin with the award, the 2020-2021 Indiana FFA State Officer Team talked about Griffin’s dedication to Indiana agriculture.

“He already earned the achievement of the Honorary Degree,” said Julia Hamblen, the 2020-2021 Indiana FFA state president, adding that Griffin has been involved in agriculture education for 34 years.

Hamblen said throughout his time at Rossville, Griffin has had close to 3,400 students pass through his classroom, had three state officers and one National FFA officer.
