Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT PAC endorses candidates

Preparing for general election

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT — the organization’s federal, nonpartisan political action committee — endorsed seven congressional candidates for the 2024 general election.

• Congressional District 1 — Democrat Frank Mrvan

• Congressional District 2 — Republican Rudy Yakym

• Congressional District 4 — Republican Jim Baird

• Congressional District 5 — Republican Victoria Spartz

• Congressional District 6 — Republican Jefferson Shreve

• Congressional District 8 — Republican Mark Messmer

• Congressional District 9 — Republican Erin Houchin

“This election is going to be extremely important for agriculture. Indiana Farm Bureau endorsements are taken very seriously as a part of the organization’s grassroots advocacy effort,” said INFB President Randy Kron.

“The goal of our PAC is to back candidates who are willing to listen and engage in issues impacting agriculture. We rely on public officials who will advocate on behalf of Hoosier agriculture and serve as our voice in Washington, D.C.”

Grassroots Process

The endorsements are determined through a grassroots process led by county leaders from across Indiana, who conduct candidate interviews and present recommendations to the oversight committee and the INFB board of directors.

An endorsement from INFB is recognition of a candidate’s support of policies that will foster a positive environment for agriculture and rural communities.
