Calendar: Farmland Owners Conference

EAST PEORIA, Ill. — University of Illinois Extension in conjunction with Illinois Central College is hosting the Farmland Owners Conference, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 20 at Illinois Central College, Academic Building, 1 College Drive, East Peoria.

Participants will hear from 18 agriculture professionals on a wide range of topics, including financial management, grain marketing and field crop production.

Cookie, Candy Stroll

AUBURN, Ind. — The DeKalb County Extension Homemakers Cookie/Candy Stroll will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET Nov. 18 at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, 708 S. Union St., Auburn.

Already wrapped or bagged items such as caramel corn, caramel apples and chocolate-covered nuts will be priced separate; unwrapped items will be sold at $8 per pound.

Dog Show Clinic

QUINCY, Ill. — The 4-H Dog Show Clinic will be 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 18 at the Quincy Kennel Club, 3909 Commercial Drive, Quincy.

Any 4-H member, from any county, is invited to attend this free dog show clinic. No previous showing experience is necessary.

Attendees will learn what to expect when showing at the fair and basic commands. Bring your dog, a leash, treats, and get ready to learn about showing your canine companion. Dogs should be updated on vaccines and be used to being around other dogs and owners.

Craft Bazaar

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The Vigo County 4-H Scholarship Holiday Craft Bazaar will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET Nov. 18 at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, 3901 S. Hwy. 41, Terre Haute.

Featured will be homemade crafts, jewelry, embroidery, clothing, kitchenware, fall and Christmas decor, woodworking and artwork.

The $1 admission price includes a door prize ticket.

Awards Celebration

PRINCEVILLE, Ill. — The Peoria 4-H Awards Celebration will be 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Princeville United Methodist Church, 420 E. Woertz Road, Princeville.

The event will recognize the outstanding achievements of 4-H members, celebrating excellence in project records, club officers, project mastery and volunteers.

Science Ambassadors

ST. CHARLES, Ill. — November Training Session for 4-H Teen Science Ambassadors will be 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Kane County Extension office, 535 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

4-H Teen Science Ambassadors are middle school and high school students who learn — and then lead — hands-on, educational lessons for their communities or younger students. Topics have included: coding, nutrition, physics, aerospace, engineering, electronics, environmental science and biotechnology.

Local 4-H Science Ambassadors have been part of the Illinois State Leadership Team for National 4-H STEM programs, attended 4-H in Space, and traveled to Washington, D.C.

The November training features Power Protectors and Crime Busters: 4-H Forensics. Officer elections will be held.
