Porter County: ‘The best 10 days of summer’

VALPARAISO, Ind. — Porter County Fair boasts the “best 10 days of summer” July 22-31.

Scrumptious fair food, grandstand entertainment, and free stage and ground acts will be available all week. Four-H livestock barns and shows, along with a top-notch Midway, round out the fair.

This year, several famous singers will grace the stage:

• On July 22, country singer Brantley Gilbert with special guest Lauren Alaina will perform.

• On July 23, Miranda Lambert will sing the night away. Her accolades include five Album of the Year awards, four Best Song awards, four Best Single awards and nine Top Female Vocalist awards.

• On July 24, Christian band For King & Country with special guest Echosmith will perform.

4-H and family are integral parts of the Porter County Fair. 4-H members have spent months preparing to show off their animals and projects.

Children and adults alike look forward to the carnival rides, games and fair food.

The Porter County Fair features a barbecue cook-off. Local food and ethnic fare alike will be available to devour.

Action lovers can enjoy the rodeo bull riding shows, tractor pull and demolition derby. Rides for all ages can be found on the Midway.

Free entertainment includes the 4-H Queen Contest and Cutest Baby competition.
