Monster trucks, thrill shows at Lake County Fair

CROWN POINT, Ind. — The 171st Lake County Fair will take place Aug 4-13 in Crown Point.

The fair will be jam-packed with Grandstand shows, including the All Star Monster Trucks Shows with the Kamikaze Kid Fire Thrill Show during intermission, Aug. 4-6.

Aug. 7 features the Three Bar J Rodeo at 7 p.m. Also on the schedule is Micro Wrestling, the South County Mud Runners Mud Drags, and the International Demolition Derby. Dates and times will be posted on the fair’s website.

“Don’t forget about all the free shows and activities,” said Arlene Marcinek, fair spokesperson. “Farm Bureau’s Lets Learn About Agriculture; the piglet nursery; daily animal judging; Show Me Safari Petting Zoo; Silly Safari, an animal show three times daily; barns full of animals and buildings full of exhibits; Harvest Tyme Kids Activities daily; and the food.”

Gate admission will be $8 for ages 11 and up; ages 10 and under are free. Parking on the fairgrounds is free.

Free shuttle buses from Crown Point High School will be provided for fairgoers.

Mega passes and presale wristbands will be available this year, as well.
