2021 Illinois Forage Expo July 29

FAIRBURY, Ill. — Don’t miss the 2021 Illinois Forage and Grassland Council’s Forage Expo scheduled 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 29 at Kilgus Farmstead, 21471 East 670 North Road, Fairbury.

“This is a great event that’s full of helpful information, whether you’re a grazing guru, a forage producer, or just trying to improve your small farm management practices. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet experienced graziers, ask questions and see the latest in equipment and forage solutions on the ground that work here in Illinois,” said Matt Bunger, state grazing specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.

“In addition, we’ll have the opportunity to learn about some of the forage management practices that Kilgus’ utilize to maintain quality forage for optimum milk production and a great keynote panel discussion focusing on making quality baleage.”

The full day of events includes:

• Forage presentations and panel discussions.

• Kilgus farm tour.

• Pasture walk.

• Onsite lunch vendors.

• Forage equipment and new technology demonstrations.

• Hay Quality Contest.

• Ice cream social.

The expo is free to attend and is sponsored by the Illinois Forage and Grassland Council, with support from USDA-NRCS, Illinois State University and University of Illinois Extension.
