MADISON, Wis. — The Dairy Business Innovation Alliance has opened its Dairy Builder Business Grants applications for 2024.
Small- to medium-sized dairy farmers, manufacturers and processors in Illinois, Indiana and several other states may apply for the funding. The deadline is April 4.
Last year, Indiana’s own Kuehnert Dairy from Fort Wayne applied for this grant and was awarded $100,000.
The reimbursement grants of up to $100,000 each aim to support recipients in diversifying on-farm activity, creating value-added products, enhancing dairy byproducts and creating or enhancing dairy export programs.
“These grants have helped small businesses with the support they need to grow and diversify,” said John Lucey, Center for Dairy Research director. “This program helps strengthen our cheese and dairy industry by supporting more value-added products and diversification.”
Funding is administered by the Center for Dairy Research and the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association. Learn more and apply at cdr.wisc.edu/dbia.
