WILLIAMSBURG, Iowa — A new 1,100-bushel dual auger Kinze grain cart will be available to farmers for the 2022 harvest season.
“Our customers are looking for a 1,000- to 1,100-bushel dual auger grain cart with the simplicity, robustness and longevity that our 1050 grain cart came with,” said Justin Render, Kinze product specialist. “The 1121 grain cart is a rebirth of the 1050 with some enhancements.”
The Harvest Commander 1121 grain cart will be added to the dual auger carts that include 1321, 1421, 1521 and 1721, said Render during the Kinze Media Day.
“We are doing a model roll because the numbers on our grain carts have been confusing to customers,” he explained. “The first two digits are the bushel capacity, the third digit indicates single or dual auger and the last number is the model generation.”
The new grain cart features a 90-degree corner auger.
“This grain cart has a shorter tongue section,” Render said. “A lot of our customers load them on a semi with the tractor attached, so it fits on trailers.”
A change was made to the hood spout.
“This new rectangle box provides a huge increase on spout control, which was needed,” Render said.
With the improved harness routing, Render said, the hoses are kept above the PTO shaft and the hydraulic couplers are color coded.
“We included a grease bank in the front so all the maintenance happens in the front of the machine,” he said.
Four dump doors on the Kinze grain cart help farmers with cleanout as they switch to different crops.
“The cleanout took too long before so now we have a dump door in the front, two in the middle and one in the back,” Render said.
“The grain cart has a high side and low side,” he said. “That makes it easier to hit the 1,100-bushel mark as you’re unloading on the go with your combine.”
The Harvest Commander is equipped with LED lights.
“We’ve added a light to the grain tank,” Render said. “And there is an optional remote scale display so the combine operator knows how much grain he is putting in the cart.”
In addition to the Harvest Commander decals, the new grain cart will also feature Kinze man character on the back of the machine.
“We are bringing back the iconic Kinze man,” Render said. “The 1050 was the last grain cart series to have him.”
This year marks the 50th anniversary Kinze’s first grain cart.
“Jon (Kinzenbaw) pioneered the grain cart market 50 years ago and this is one of legendary products that Kinze made, so we brought it back with enhancements,” Render said.
“This new grain cart fits about 45% of the dual auger market and it meets farmers’ tractor horsepower range,” he said.
“We’re excited about the grain cart improvements on our dual augers coming this year,” he said. “They all come from listening to what customers and dealers are saying and taking that into account — including the spout control, easy maintenance, easy clean out and remote scale display.”
Farmers can order the 1121 Kinze grain cart starting in November until Jan. 15 to have them available for harvest in the fall of 2022.
