LEXINGTON, Ill. — University Farm, Illinois State University’s research farm, will host a Cover Crop Field Day April 16.
The event kicks off with field tours at 4 p.m. followed by discussions and presentations to learn about successes and overcoming potential struggles when implementing cover crops.
Other cover crop-related topics will include increasing farm profit, carbon credits and ecosystem services.
Field-scale pennycress will also be featured, along with information about utilizing it as a cash cover crop, weed suppression and other benefits.
