CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. — The Land Conservancy of McHenry County and McHenry County College’s Center for Agrarian Learning are presenting the documentary, “Common Ground.”
The free screening will be held on June 22 at McHenry County College in the Luecht Conference Center located at 8900 U.S. 14 in Crystal Lake. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Admission is free and no registration is required. After the film, guests are invited to stay for refreshments and meet local farmers.
Directed by Josh and Rebecca Tickell, “Common Ground” explores how people across the country are using and supporting regenerative agriculture, highlighting concrete ways to improve a broken food system.
The film features celebrity actors, activists and philanthropists Rosario Dawson, Laura Dern, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson and others alongside many farmers, ranchers and scientists, including Gabe Brown, Jonathan Lundgren, Mark Hyman, Leah Penniman, Ray Archuleta and more.
“Common Ground,” the sequel to the 2020 documentary, “Kiss the Ground,” is a sobering independent documentary investigating the often-toxic interconnections of farming and food systems — and providing hopeful, true examples of real change.
The Land Conservancy of McHenry County is a member-based private nonprofit dedicated to preserving natural, scenic and agricultural land.
