This week I took a moment to appreciate how lucky I am to have a cozy, warm, comfortable home this winter. I wish that I could give this gift to everybody.
Every person deserves a good place to call home. It’s something I don’t take for granted.
As I write, I look up and see my husband sipping coffee in the kitchen. The babes are playing with mixing bowls on the floor. The cool winter light is pouring in through the windows.
We’re safe, we’re fed and we’re warm. If I could choose any place to be in the world, it would be here.
They say it’s not where you are, but who you’re with that matters. And I agree with that.
I love this place, too. It’s not fancy. But it’s ours.
I wonder, do birds cherish their nests like this? Do they feel accomplished when they find just the right spot to call home? Animals must seek the safety and warmth of home, just as we do.
I cherish every corner of this place — and, most importantly, the people who fill it.
