Langreck: Going mad for March Madness

Years ago there used to be a show on MTV called “The Buried Life,” where four friends traveled around the country marking items off their bucket list of 100 things they wanted to do before they died. Some of them were crazy, such as be on “Oprah,” do a sketch with Will Farrell and help deliver a baby.

While I enjoyed watching the show and seeing what item they would cross off their bucket list every week, what I really loved about it was that for every item they crossed off their list, they helped someone else cross an item off their bucket list.

I actually had the chance to meet them once, when they came to do a show at Purdue University, and my younger sister and I were able to cross meeting the guys from “The Buried Life” off our own bucket lists.

I have crossed a few other things off my bucket list throughout the years, including graduating from college and visiting another country.

There are still some bucket list items I haven’t yet accomplished, including making a lasting impact on the world, seeing Purdue University win a NCAA championship, being a foster mom and attending a NCAA Tournament game.

While there are several things on that list I’m still working toward achieving, I will soon have the opportunity to mark attending a March Madness game off my list.

Due to COVID-19 there are only a certain amount of tickets available for the games, all of which are being held in Indiana, so I had to purchase my tickets before Selection Show Sunday.

So, while I am not going to have a chance to watch Purdue play, I am going to a first-round game — and I am psyched.
