ENNIS, Mont. — Longtime commodities analyst and newspaper columnist Jerry Welch died Oct. 2.
His daughter shared the news in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Dad unexpectedly passed on Monday. We are in total shock, he was our world.”
One of the most recognized names in the world of commodities, Welch authored one of the longest-running commodity futures newspaper columns in history.
His column, “Commodity Insight,” has been published each week since the mid-1980s in Illinois AgriNews and Indiana AgriNews.
