Forty-seven years ago, five buddies were reminiscing about the “good old days” of agriculture when they came up with an idea that has since grown far beyond expectations.

A few years had passed before they saw each other again. But Jerome Ripperda, one of the co-chairs of the 32nd National Red Power Round Up, immediately recognized the International Harvester mounted corn picker.

For Vaughn Allen, the past of International Harvester holds as much interest as the present. “There are so many things I was involved with during that period that are really special to me,” Allen said.

Whether it’s beets or corn, cotton or Christmas trees, there’s a piece of International Harvester equipment that was made to plant or harvest it, sometimes both.
